Teachers and Accommodation
Learn English Direct carefully selects tutors and their families. All teachers’ homes are of a high standard and you will have a comfortable and well equipped bedroom with a study area. Bathroom facilities are usually shared with the teacher and family unless you can request a private bathroom (extra charges apply).
Before arrival you will be sent a profile of your teacher and the family with some photos. We would be really grateful if you could send a photograph with your enrolment form for your teacher.
If you booked an airport transfer with us we will take great care to make sure that you are met on arrival by your teacher, one of our members of staff or an appointed driver at the local airport, train or bus station.
After your arrival, during the first day, you are welcomed into your teacher's home. You will have time to relax and settle in. Your teacher will give you all the information about mealtimes, family routines, lessons and within the first 48 hours you will be shown the local area. Together with your teacher you will plan social activities for the week depending on your interests. Ideas can be found in your ‘Welcome Pack’ from Learn English Direct, which the teacher will give you on your first day.
During your first lesson, the teacher will assess your level of English and you will complete an Individual Study Plan together, discussing your language learning needs and requirements.
